The Honolulu Board of REALTORS® recently released housing statistics for January 2016. Using data from the MLS, the median price for a single family home was $733,500, an increase of 10.5%, from the same month last year. This is a new median price record.
January 2016 was a very strong month in sales. Using the same metrics of comparison, single family sales were up 18.2%; 336 single family homes were sold in January 2016.
Looking back, the median price for a single family home has steadily increased during the month of January. Here’s a snapshot:
Jan 2015 - $675,000
Jan 2014 - $629,500
Jan 2013 - $595,000
